I chose to be an athlete at Wichita State University because I wanted to represent my home state. Also, the coaching staff on the volleyball team was outstanding. The Charles Koch Arena was an amazing facility to play in.
The Shocker Athletic Scholarship Organization (SASO) gave me the support both athletically and financially to help me obtain my degree in Elementary Education. The memories I have from playing tournaments in Hawaii, San Diego and many other places are unforgettable. SASO gave me the opportunity to play volleyball professionally in Puerto Rico and Spain for a year after I graduated from WSU. Now, I get to share my athletic skills with the Cheney High School (Kansas) volleyball team as their head coach.
SASO opened my eyes to a community with a never-ending support for the student-athletes at WSU. Thank you to all of the donors of SASO for a life-changing experience that has helped shape my life and made me a stronger person. The continued support of student-athletes will help change the lives of young adults forever.
